Meeting Daniel Radcliffe on June 17th, 2010 at a pre-granding opening tour of The Wizarding World of Harry Potter.
Tomorrow we fly back to Dallas after enjoying a few days on the beach. We’re sad to go but so very grateful for our time here.
We’d like to send a heartfelt THANK YOU to Leslie, Clint, Ashley, Ruthie, & everyone else at Make A Wish for the best wish experience EVER :) Piper will endorse Make A Wish for the rest of her life, and so will we!!
Huge thanks to Judi, Polly, Erin and the entire crew at Universal - WWoHP was more fantastic than we ever imagined! We will be back someday for more butterbeer & that pink pigmy puff sure :)
Big big thanks to the Higgins family - Mel, Roger, Libby and Charlie - for the beach love :) We won’t forget those sunsets anytime soon…
And last but not least, thanks to the amazing CAST of the HARRY POTTER films (Daniel Radcliffe, Michael Gambon, Warwick Davis, Rupert Grint, Tom Felton, Bonnie Wright, Matthew Lewis, James & Oliver Phelps) for the amazing surprise meet & greet for Make-A-Wish!! We appreciate your time and kindness to our baby girls!
PIPER WILL TREASURE THESE MEMORIES FOREVER!
xoxo
Today is grand opening day and we came back again to shop in Zonko’s & Honeydukes. (Both were closed to us during the private tour, due to interviews with the media.) SO GRATEFUL WE WERE HERE YESTERDAY and that the kids were able to explore the park without the sardine packed crowd, long waits and extra heat.
We heard that the park reached capacity by 10am and had to close its doors. The lines to enter the shops were over an hour long. We waited it out — Piper said she HAD to have a pink pigmy puff from Zonkos — but once inside, we couldn’t move an inch (not that you can move outside the stores either) and everything was sold out.
Luckily, Piper’s medical pass let’s us skip the 3-hr lines for rides, so we’re going to let her hit a roller-coaster once more time and call it a day… No meal at Three Broomsticks for us, the line is just too long :(
Piper’s official Wish Day was the BEST DAY EVER!! As you can see from the photos below :)
Meeting the CAST was fantastamazing - we’re all tickled pink and I imagine we will be for years to come! And the park was more than we ever dreamed it would be…. TRULY A MAGICAL PLACE!! Of course, we’ve been talking about all the things we hope they add-on over time… Piper thinks it needs moving stairs, I think it needs a common room (we coulda used some couch time!) and Pai thinks “Moaning Myrtle needs to get out of the girl’s bathroom, cuz she’s freaky”…. ;-)
We are EXHAUSTED - the heat was really hard on Piper, BUT she’s motivated and she wants to come back to do it all again tomorrow on opening day. We must be crazy!!!!! There was SO much to see and we are far from disappointed, but due to the media/press, we just don’t feel like we saw it all…
So tomorrow - Zonkos, Honeydukes, and hopefully we’ll get to eat at the Three Broomsticks…. Fingers crossed!!!
Wow! It really was a HUGE SURPRISE!! We got to meet the cast of the Harry Potter movies (pics below) between their press interviews!!! Awesome people!! Piper was SPEECHLESS, for once, and she is still glowing :) Wow. WOW.
BEST. SURPRISE. EVER.
Hogsmeade is amazzzing :) We had butterbeer at the HogsHead, so yummy! It was like cream soda with a wicked caramel-flavored foam!
The castle was simply fantastic - Talking paintings on the walls & holograms of the characters. Can’t believe how realistic they were! Paisley’s favorite part was when Ron made it snow on our heads :) The attention to detail was just… overwhelming!!
Jay and Piper rode the rides while Paisley and I absorbed the magic around us. We’re just in awe.
OH and a wand “chose” Piper at Ollivanders!! Cutest thing ever :)
All this, and the day’s not over yet, YAAAY!! Can’t tell you how many times I’ve already cried with joy for Piper. She deserves this so much….
